Welcome to Week 22 of Paint Party Friday!! (Week 22! Should we stop counting yet?) We are so happy to have each, and all, of you painting and visiting and joining in the fun here over this easy breezy summer!
We hope those of you in the UK and Northwest are finally getting some sun. But rain or shine, one thing we've heard a lot this summer are the songs of summer birds. We suspect those of you in the Southern Hemisphere may have winter birds visiting you? We've been seeing birds appear as inspiration in your (and our) paintings and we wonder... what is your favourite bird?
Please make sure to use your post URL address versus your blog address as there are many late visitors who get confused as to which post is for PPF when they arrive (after Friday) at your website. If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Linky, an explanation of how this tool works can be found on Week 1 and Week 2 check-ins.
Have a great time at the party!! (Both Kristin and Eva are away this weekend so our visits won't be timely but we hope to see your painting efforts when we can.)
My favorite bird is the hummingbird, which will sadly be gone in a few weeks. But I'm also enjoying my chickens! They are so humorous.
ReplyDeleteI love listening to the birds sing. So many happy memories come to me while I listen to doves coo in the early morning hours. We invite birds into our yard with feeders and flower, shade trees and whatever they like. I love them so much I can even ignore their mess.
ReplyDeleteI find the older I get the more I enjoy just hearing the birds and seeing them. I especially like to hear the "Bob White" quail we have in our area but they are becoming fewer and fewer.
ReplyDeleteI am devoted to Kingfishers who seem to often be around in areas that I live. They are all about prosperity and love! We also have some beautiful birds in our tree called Tui's who have the most wonderful song.

ReplyDeleteHear a tui here!
It's raining raining raining here in Belgium. I'm sick of it. But I paint.
ReplyDeleteHonestly other than crows and pigeons pooping everywhere, I'm not sure I've ever even seen the other birds mentioned other than in the wildlife tv programmes I love to watch! Over here, my favourite would be the robin or the blue tit but I do love owls simply for how unusual and beautiful they look!
ReplyDeleteHi again! So glad to be here! I was torn between choosing owls and crows. I love them both! But since I painted an owl to share with all of you, I voted for them in all their beauty and mystery :)
ReplyDeleteI love all birds, except one, who sits on my balcony an warbles a sweet little song. All day and every day - my patience is wearing thin!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing storks and herons in the summer. Well I get to see the herons a lot but storks are rare and I only see them on tv when they make the news. :)
ReplyDeleteI love looking at birds, but not up close, am a bit scared of them ever since I watched Hitchcock's film 'The Birds'..... am going to try and paint a bird for next week, heaven only knows what it will turn out like, but hey ho you don't know unless you try right.......... Thank you for a great party......hugs Annette x
ReplyDeleteI was torn between owls and crows too but the bird I really love the most is the Red Tail Hawk!!! I also love to watch the white egrits and blue herons. Oh and can't forget those adorable penguins!!!!Hummingbirds are beautiful and inspirational too. Well I guess I like a whole lotta different birds, lol! Have a great party everyone!Deb
ReplyDeleteLove your painting ~ thanks again for hosting this ~ Happy PPF ^_^ Carol
ReplyDeleteLove owls and hawks and such. Also this year have seen some different kinds of songbirds I don't remember seeing before, big black and yellow ones. I haven't had time to look them up yet.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I love owls,, but I love crows and ravens,, beautiful painting,, Happy Paint Party Friday!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing doves!! Our house is like a bird sanctuary! lol We always have crows that come by and also cardinals and bluejays. Happy Paint Party Friday everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband has nicknamed me "the bird lady" ...says it all, don't ya think?
ReplyDeleteLove, love Birds! Happy PPF everyone:)
ReplyDeleteI love to watch the hummingbirds. Who would have thought that those tiny birds would be so aggressive toward each other? They guard the feeder as if it were the only source of food in the universe.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a real favorite bird, I truly love them all. I can spend a lot of time just watching them. If I have to pick a favorite - well can I pick three? Owls, Steller's Jays and Northern Flickers. Hawks (ok, that makes four...)
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteAll kinds of blackbirds of course...ravens and crows..!!..but I am truly enchanted by all birds and creatures...I have chickadees i feed by hand at home..
I am a bird kindred at heart! Love all winged creatures!
Wishing you all a magical wkd..
Victoria
Your Paint Party helps to keep me on task. Thanks for doing this every week. :D
ReplyDeleteMy Blog
There are a lot of hummingbirds in my yard, love them all. I like to watch them. There have been times when I've had one come so close to me and then just making it's buzzing noise and looking me straight in the eye. It was wonderful! Happy Paint Friday all! Thanks Eva and Kristin.
ReplyDeleteI like cardinals because I don't see them that often and such a brilliant red colour!
ReplyDeleteI adore birds and have a lot of bird related tattoos - a firebird/peacock and an owl. I love the mythical firebirds and I adore the showy peacock. But I also love the simple plump little chickadees and bob whites.
ReplyDeleteMy little chickadee!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to all!
I love bluejays...we have a family of them that come back every spring and build a nest in our large tree out back...they are very pretty...I also love cardinals but do not see many where I live...happy ppf guys!
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone! It's my first time playing at the paint party. What a great group. Can't wait to keep visiting.
