Welcome to Week 43 of Paint Party Friday! Happy New Year! We hope that all of you have a fabulous and creative 2012 filled with time to make LOTS of art! (And to show us your paintings here...)
Last week, we talked about resolutions. Some of you had art related resolutions and goals, others didn't make them and an increasing number of you preferred the idea of a Word of the Year. We (EVA and Kristin) posted about our "Words" as did Lisa/WrightStuff and others. Geri/MyHeartArt has even started a blog hop about the Word of the Year so if you want to share yours, please join in.
Some of you talked about wanting to paint a specific number of paintings in 2012. Gloria has twelve (12 for 2012?) in mind... (though we suspect she may paint more...) and Mary mentioned her lofty goal of a painting a week. What about you? Do you have a specific number of paintings that you want to paint in 2012?
Please make sure to use your post URL address NOT your blog home page URL address as there are many late visitors who get confused as to which post is for PPF when they arrive (after Friday) at your website. If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Linky, an explanation of how this tool works can be found on Week 1 and Week 2 Check-ins.
Have a fun time at the party! We've set out celery and carrots sticks to make up for all those cookies last month...
xoxo
Kristin and EVA
Every year I say I will paint everyday!!! will see how things turn out!!!! Thank you for hosting!!!
ReplyDeleteI try to paint every day too. It's easier on days I don't work though!
ReplyDeleteOHMYGOSH! I have NEVER been #3! What am I doing up at this hour?? I paint a lot of stuff ... but not many 'paintings'. I want to paint FIVE real paintings this year ... and I want to thank Kristin and Eva and all of YOU for the inspiration that got me painting more stuff in 2011 than any other year of my life!
ReplyDeleteMy first time here! Looking forward to the party.
ReplyDeleteRinda
Ooops. I entered twice, and the second one is to an inapplicable link. Can you delete it? Thanks and sorry for the trouble.
ReplyDeleteI'll be happy if I can finish one painting per month. PPF helps keep me on track. Thanks to Eva and Kristin for hosting such a wonderful place to share! I look forward to seeing what the new year brings!
ReplyDeleteI kind of promised myself that I would paint and write more this year, my word is Create I guess. :) I would love to be able to complete a painting a month-that would rock my socks.
ReplyDeleteI really want to create enough pieces to try to persuade a gallery to exhibit/sell my work this year so as well as hoping to still get the odd pet portrait commission, that's what I'm aiming for. My word(s) is Carpe Diem as I want to seize every opportunity to create that comes my way this year!
ReplyDeleteI have been away awhile even though I have been painting statues - to me they are not paintings - so today I am back with a painting. My first of 2012 - may I have many many more!! And everyone else too!!
ReplyDeleteTime is always an issue for me since I work a 40 and 50 hr a week job. I have to admit it was actually fun getting sick over New Years because it forced me to slow down and take time to paint agian ( like all day long, what a concept!)And guess what my Jeff gave me for Christmas, a tablet to draw on the computer ( Bamboo Create ) oh my talk about a fun new toy! All you digital artists out there will have to give me some tips! Fun,fun, fun!!!! Happy PPF! Deb
ReplyDeleteHoping to at least get one a month finished, but depends if I'm going back to Uni or not - may not have too much time soon.
ReplyDeletethankyou Ktistin and Eva for hosting again, I don't plan on a certain number of paintings , I just want to paint, I couldn't even tell you how many I painted last year I have no idea, I have given so many away and sold a few, I'm very lax in keeping track and I don't even keep a journal, but that is one thing I am doing, starting a journal this year.
ReplyDeleteJust want to paint also no certain number. but I have other things happening for some reason. pain and headacjes so I am fighting through it and hopefully will have a resolution for it all. rightn now I am in a I don't know what is happening mode and I hate it.
ReplyDeletepeace and love to all the creative lovely people out there

I'd like to finish a painting each week. Thanks for the carrots and celery, I needed that.

Happy PPF! I actually don't have a painting number although I do know that participating in this great party motivates me to get at least a painting a week done! Or at least I try to !

You are right Eva. My VG series will be 12, but there will be lots more in between. I am always so inspired by everyone participating in PPF that I strive to do more. I like that. Enjoy your new year Eva and Kristin, and thank you.
ReplyDeleteshoot, I messed up and linked to my blog not post. Is there a way to redo!
ReplyDeleteI want to complete something every week, but this could be journaling, or a scrapbook page. As long as I am creating each week...I"m happy!
I'm working on a series on cardboard. I'm shooting for a total of 100 pieces. I've got 6 done so far.
ReplyDeleteI just want to paint when the Muse takes me... She was calling this afternoon... but I had to work :(
ReplyDeleteHappy first paint party of 2012! I paint non stop!
ReplyDeleteHaven't linked up for awhile, so looking forward to seeing what everyone is up to :) Thanks for all the inspiration here! Had to share this quote...
ReplyDelete"Each of our lives is like a painting and we are the master. Each day and each act can be another stroke on the canvas. If our hearts are in the right place, we will create something of beauty that will touch peoples lives and be remembered." ~ Robert Duncan
I hope that the new year brings us new works full of love and feeling. Un saludo
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Everyone!!! (And Happy PPF!)

ReplyDeleteSo sorry to be so late this week! My children were all in NY for the holidays with their father's side of the family, so we had our Christmas this weekend. I was still shopping(sales), wrapping, cooking and picking up the ham and special New Year's cake this last 4 or 5 days. I am submitting my Daily Paintworks Challenge today. I hope you enjoy it. On my blog i show the used canvas and my value plan for it.
