Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to all our U.S. friends! We are so thankful to have all you wonderful painters participating in Paint Party Friday and sharing the love of painting with one another.
Last week we talked about sealing paintings and the watercolourists pointed out that they really had no need to do that! Other media primarily used varnish or spray fixatives.
To celebrate American Thanksgiving - which will technically be over as this week's PPF post goes live - we thought we'd do another fun poll and ask about your favourite fixings or side dishes. For extra credit (haha), tell us if you have a favourite use of turkey leftovers in the comments!
Please make sure to use your post URL address NOT your blog home page URL address as there are many late visitors who get confused as to which post is for PPF when they arrive (after Friday) at your website. If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Linky, an explanation of how this tool works can be found on Week 1 and Week 2 Check-ins.
Hope you have (had) a great Thanksgiving if you are celebrating and have a fun time at the party!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our friends from the USA!!! wishing you a wonderful weekend with family and friends!!!

ReplyDeleteHi everybody! Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Valerie
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this is the *best* use of leftover turkey but I sure love feeding it to pets! They go crazy over it which always delights me hehe..
ReplyDeleteWe don't celebrate thanksgiving in Ireland although I do think it is a lovely tradition (apart from the whole eating millions of poor turkeys, obviously!)
ReplyDeleteI also love the sound of Black Friday - who doesn't love a sale bargain!
Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI do not know this festival in France but I would like someone to explain what it is. I am pleased to be part of your group!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and celebrate, in my country is not usual, but I think a great family celebration. Saludos
ReplyDeleteWe went out to eat this year. So much easier, but the downside is that there are no leftovers. :-(
ReplyDeleteFaye
thankyou so much for hosting again, I love stuffing, I love it too much, I never eat turkey though,
ReplyDeleteWe had a nice Thanksgiving here... my mom always made turkey tetrazzini with our leftovers... turkey, creamy sauce and fresh mushrooms over spaghetti and sprinkled with parmesan cheese :) So good!
ReplyDeleteFor our non-USA friends, Thanksgiving is to celebrate when the early Pilgrims and the native American Indians(the Wampanoag) celebrated their first successful harvest in their new(for the Pilgrims) country in 1621.
ReplyDeleteI hosted 8 people, but of course everyone brought something and helped with clean-up. We start with some light appetizers, then the main meal which is turkey, gravy, sweet potato souffle, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, tomato and mozzarella salad, corn bread & Wine, too. After a couple of hours of playing with a three year grandson and talking with adults we serve dessert-pumpkin cheesecake pie, apple pie, brownies, pretzels with caramel dipping sauce and coffee. I am still full! But feel very fortunate to be able to afford so much food and to have family and friends to share it with.
Here in Italy we don't celebrate Thanksgiving, of course. But Happy Thanksgiving to all the USA residents!!!
ReplyDeleteAs far as I am concerned, it's ALL about the dressing, which is what we call it down South! I hope you had a Happy Thanksving, whether you celebrate the holiday, wherever you are or not, because one thing I'm certainly thankful for is the chance to meet and share inspiration and the love of art with all of you. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteKathy
