Welcome to Week 25 of Paint Party Friday and the Labor Day weekend in North America. It's the last long weekend before many schools start a new school year. It used to be that that all schools started here after the long weekend but now it is more staggered. We still think of it as Back to School time though!
Most of you are ready for Autumn to arrive. There a few stragglers (like one of us) who want an endless summer but most of you were ready to move on! This week we wonder what the long weekend (if you have one) means to you? For those of you in the Southern Hemisphere and elsewhere - is there anything special about the passing of August to Spetember for you?
Please make sure to use your post URL address versus your blog address as there are many late visitors who get confused as to which post is for PPF when they arrive (after Friday) at your website. If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Linky, an explanation of how this tool works can be found on Week 1 and Week 2 check-ins.
We hope you have a super long weekend and a great time at the party!
We have finished our second week of school here in Texas so the extra long weekend will be spent catching up on housework and spending time with family. I am hoping we are having a new baby!(Ah...grandbaby!) He is due now and we are anxiously waiting. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteSchool is in full swing here in Indiana, that's why I've been to actually produce some stuff! Gonna be hot here this weekend, about 98 degrees F, so I will probably stay in the A/C during the hot hours. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteHey Everyone, I hope you get to enjoy a lovely Labor Day Weekend! Kids back in school 2 wks now & they were the hottest all summer! I wish we all went back after Labor Day like before! Happy PPF!

I don't have children so other than the heavier traffic on the roads and less seats on the train (bah humbug) starting back to school doesn't affect me (I do get all nostalgic when I see the kids in their new school shoes though - I always loved the new shoes and new pencil case and stationery part of a new school year!)
ReplyDeleteHi All! Back-to-school has me running to adjust to the new schedules, but I did have time to paint (kids in school...yay!). I work at the Farmer's Market all day Friday, but will visit everyone over the weekend. Have an inspired weekend :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo, nice perspective of the three buses announced Paint Party Friday.
ReplyDeleteHave a great PPF! Off to a wedding at Westpoint in New York this weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! Here in Germany it's a *normal* weekend. School will be starting again next week. I enjoy the time when people are away on vacation - it's easier for me to find a parking space! But I love this time of year, it just has something special! Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt's first day of Spring here in Australia :) although our winters are pretty mild Spring seems to be the stunning weather wise, not too hot (summer here can be OH SO HOT) but Spring is beach weather without the sunburn or sweat (well you still need Factor 30) the water refreshing not cold... Spring is the countdown to Chistmas Holidays (the BIG 7 or is i more??) weeks of endless summer, sand between the toes, holiday road trips, family barbies... it's 2 weeks to Spring school holidays in Australia, (that's the summer holiday prequel) ;)
ReplyDeleteIts a normal weekend here in the UK as Bank Holiday for us was last weekend and we had a brilliant family time. Grandchildren are all excited about returning to education.
ReplyDeleteLoving your picture of the buses, so clever. Have a great week everyone. Annette x
Same old thing here just an extra day of it!!!
ReplyDeleteJust another sunny weekend in Germany....happy paint party friday to you all!!
ReplyDeleteThankyou Eva and Kristin for hosting another Paint Party Friday,, I love how the buses spell it out,, how cool is that!
ReplyDeleteThis is our big weekend up in Reno for the BBQ Rib Cook Off. We went last year and the year before and we are hooked! Its a HUGE festival with the top rib chefs from around the country, a giant arts and crafts show and live bands for 6 days I think. We only go for one day ( and spend the night!) though. We are going Sunday and the band that night is Blue Oyster Cult. Remember them? Whoa,oh,Godzilla...actually I hate that song but they have a bunch of better ones, lol!!!The other cool thing this weekend is our Pow Wow in Valley Springs. Its not much of a pow wow as those go but its one of the biggest rock hound shows in the area! Were going to that on Sat cuz you all know about my addiction to rocks, lol!Happy PPF and Labor Day Weekend everyone!!! Partaaaaaay!!! Deb
ReplyDeleteBus photo is awesome ~ Thanks for hosting Eva and Kristin ~ love this group! namaste, Carol (artmusedog) ^_^

Though my son and I have both been back to school for 4 days, it's been easy transition week and I am pretending it's still summer. Three long days ahead of me with lots of painting on my agenda (and a healthy does of denial that next week is going to bring a boatload of homework into the house!)
ReplyDeleteLife around here seems to center on the school year, even with those of us who have no school-age children. I don't have any plans for the holiday.
ReplyDeleteWill be seeing friends this weekend. Daughter's off to uni, son has to pack his bags for next week. Planning to bbq ribs this evening as the weather's great!
ReplyDeleteLove your back to school inspiration with the school buses!
Wow, my son started back the first of August! So, I guess laundry, laundry and more laundry for me and painting, too, ofcourse! Happy Labor Day! Thanks for hosting this party each week! Lori
ReplyDeleteGood to see everyone. Husband will be enjoying time off and it's left up to him whether go to a Pow Wow, or to an acorn festival, or whatever he wants to do is fine with me. He deserves a break. Happy weekend to all.
ReplyDeleteLooks like my weekend will be filled with rain, but maybe that will finally put out the marsh fires. It is smelling less smoky outside today.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of the stragglers, who wants an endless Summer!
ReplyDeleteone son into a new apartment and second yr of college starting soon and my grand daughter starts preschool so exciting !I love the fall good time to get organized.
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm a new follower here ~ looking forward to getting more in touch with my artistic side... watercolors are my preferred medium, but I also enjoy sketching and painting with acrylics.. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!
ReplyDeleteThis is the best time of year here weather wise, we will hopefully be outside enjoying the weather!
ReplyDeleteFriends, Family and end of summer vacation! The perfect kick off to FALL! And believe me this vacation was a long time coming so I'm enjoying every minute of it! Even though its 100+ degrees here! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteWe have been back to school since the middle of August. So no more back-to-school hussle for us. I hope to create this weekend, do some gardening and just spend time with my family and enjoy good food.
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF! My internet has been down all day...so happy I finally made it over here to add my link!
ReplyDeleteAutumn always has a "new beginnings" feel to it, with or without back-to-school. Looking forward to some cooler weather, although it's the same old heat and humidity today.
This weekend is a busy one. I will be transporting some dogs from a shelter to a foster home in PA.
ReplyDeleteI'll be able to get out the paints again now that summer is over.
