Welcome to week 21 of Paint Party Friday! We hope fun, relaxation (and some painting), are top priorities on your summertime to-do list! For our friends in winter - we hope these posts add a little sunshine to your days!
Last week we discovered that nothing can quench a summer sized thirst like good ol' water... Although quite a few of us definitely enjoy a cool refreshing cocktail now and then! This week we're wondering what you do to keep busy in the summer... What is your favorite summertime activity? (Other than painting, of course!)
Please make sure to use your post URL address versus your blog address as there are many late visitors who get confused as to which post is for PPF when they arrive (after Friday) at your website. If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Linky, an explanation of how this tool works can be found on Week 1 and Week 2 check-ins.
Hope you are enjoying your summertime activities! Have fun at the party!
oh summer. ick. It was 107 here today. No i am not kidding. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Winter person desite the cold. Summer is just too hot for me and I'd rather hibernate with the AC on. I'm not an outside person unless it's in our gardens. I do wish we had a swimming pool though. Swimming is like riding a bike, you never forget how to do it. Thanks Eva and Kristin. Bye everyone, Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteHa, I love hearing folk complaining about the summer heat - if only!! I prefer winter because at least then we get those gorgeous crisp frosty days mixed in with the grey rainy days we get the rest of the time! Plus I know what to wear - in summer here one minute its warm the next its pouring down and freezing - we need layers!
ReplyDeleteSame as by Pointy Pix . We mostly have no summer to complain of. We had 2 hot days this week, but that was it! *Summer in Germany is a green painted winter* is a quote from the German Poet Heinrich Heine 200 years ago!
ReplyDeleteI rather like hot days. My hair turns into a raggedy bush though with our humidity, so that's a downer. I'm not at 107 yet Amy, but we've had heat index of 115 for several days last week. It only reached 90 today which felt brisk, haha.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one that thinks "eating ice cream until I explode" should be another option added to the voting?
Happy to be back and happy PPF everyone.
Bit of a shade dweller although you would never be able to tell with my lovely deathly white complexion x
ReplyDeleteI love the sun!, coming from England we don't get enough and so I long for warm sunny skies. It's so wet here in the UK that's why I guess it's so lush and green, but when the sun shines the UK is at it's best no need for holidays abroad when it's sunny here ;0) Dxx
ReplyDeleteWell, I like to travel in the summer more then anything. And if it's too hot I tend to stick to the inside of the house for sooling off purposes. :) It's a perfect time to create.
ReplyDeleteI love all the seasons but at the moment would love to have a lot more sun. x

ReplyDeleteBeaching it is my favorite, I grew up on the beach but now I live in the mountains of TN. so I guess a shade tree and a good book will have to do.
ReplyDeleteOHMYHECK! I'm lost this a.m. ... okay I know where I am now! I'm a Spring Fall girl. It's TOO hot right now! When it's this hot, I love anything that involves air conditioning :) ... well almost anything.
ReplyDeleteI am not a big fan of the summer heat. I live in NY and am looking forward to fall! Its my favorite time of year here in the northeast! Happy PPF everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteIts been crazy hot here this summer ( Philadelphia ) but I haven't minded it too much. Not so sure I would say that if I did not have AC though! The dog days of August usually have me feeling slow and lazy. Sort of like February when all I want to do do is sleep and eat.
ReplyDeleteOh wait! That is every month!! :o)
I love the sun, I love the beach, I love the Ocean, I love nature and gardens, I love Summer!
ReplyDeleteHappy Paint Party Friday!! I love anything to do with water,, and as our lakes are frozen over from November until April, we enjoy it while we can!
ReplyDeleteHiking! All the way for me!
ReplyDeleteAdore summer but too hot I hide indoors ... : )
ReplyDeleteIs it the heat...that has me living a life of Murphys law? I have to blame it on something. :-)
ReplyDeletehere in Seattle especially this year the summer has not been warm. In the few summer days we have we don't even know what to do with it!
ReplyDeleteWe are usually home. If we do vacation it is on the water!!! Lake Tahoe, Ca.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has a SPPPPEEEEEEEED boat and he likes to play on the lake!
The temperature is just right and the mountain air is wonderful! Dress code is jeans and t shirts, food is bar b que , and housecleaning is not allowed!!!
I've missed a couple of weeks but glad to be back; hope to get around to everyone over the weekend, but have a ton of work to do around here and leaving on vacation in less than two weeks.
ReplyDeleteI am a wimp in the summer; hate the heat and humidity. I think I'll relocate and join Pointy Pix and Valerie! :)
ReplyDeleteIn theory I love summer, but the heat is really getting to me this year.
ReplyDelete@Jaime, love the idea of eating ice cream until I explode! :)
Been doing a lot of hiding inside with the fan blowing (we have no A/C) and letting the weeds grow and grow. But even so, one of my favorite summer things is eating from the garden every single meal! More and more is ripening every day. I'm also missing being by the lake. My family would always go up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan every summer, but not this year.
Summer just arrived here in Vancouver so I hope it stays a bit longer!! I love going camping up in the mountains :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Nice to be back and see all your stuff this week!
I don't like going to the beach! I am a red head. I burn!!! And I hate having sand in my swimsuit. And I hate walking on the sand that is to hot. And I hate the fact that everything is so expensive. And I remember when I was young and that I got lost all the time... Could'nt find my way back to our spot on the beach!
ReplyDeleteI live on the gulfcoast of Florida. There is a natural canal behind the condo we live in, and sailboats are parked there. The beach is only a mile away. I love to be in the water, on the water ...or near the water, all the time, LOL!...and I love being out in summer sunsets waterside!! I'm not a fan of being on the beach at high noon, but any other time is brilliant =)
ReplyDeletehere's a link to my post for this week, and if you check out my home page, you'll see that i recently painted a gorgeous red sunset ACEO!Kathryn

Sorry, I'm a day late to the party.
ReplyDeleteI used to love summer, but lately it seems like it's all hot and very humid with a few breaks in between. I'll take it over snow but would love less humid. Sun makes me happy but a few thunder and lightening storms are exciting too.
Forgot to write what we love to do!
ReplyDeleteWe love the beach and pool. Anything by the water is fine with me!
We haven't had much heat yet....but the garden is getting started and I'm hoping for a great September. My link is all about finding the perfect amongst the imperfections :)
