Welcome to Week 41 of Paint Party Friday! It's fantastic to see so many of you still painting with everything else going on at this time of year!
The Holidays are here and from the results of last week's poll, most of us are still scrambling to get everything done. We know that we are! This week we're having another lighthearted and fun poll. We want to know what your favorite holiday cookies are... Please feel free to share recipes (or send us some)!
Please make sure to use your post URL address NOT your blog home page URL address as there are many late visitors who get confused as to which post is for PPF when they arrive (after Friday) at your website. If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Linky, an explanation of how this tool works can be found on Week 1 and Week 2 Check-ins.
We want to wish you and your families all our very best wishes for a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a joyous holiday season in what ever way you celebrate. Have a great celebration!
Much Love,
Kristin and EVA

Cookies. I made the most delicious ones this year. From Nigella Lawson. NOw, its all in grams but you can easily find a converter on line.
ReplyDelete2 large egg whites
200 g ground almons
200 g caster (fine?) sugar
almonds to decorate
Mix sugar and almonds together in a bowl. Add egg whites and mix first with a spoon then your hand you are making a sort of mazipan.
roll out into walnut sized balls, put onto a tray lined with baking paper. Squash down a bit and decorate with a blanched or whole almond. Bake at 390 degrees F for 6 - 8 minutes. They need to not have browned, or no more than just round the edges. Transfer to a cooling tray and then devour when cold.
Happy holidays everyone.

ReplyDeleteSnickerdoodles are my favorite! LOL....Have a Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year...thanks for all you do.
ReplyDeleteFor Christmas, we usually make M&M cookies and Tea cookies with anise oil. The tea cookies smell wonderful baking and are so good with a hot cup of eggnog. Occasionally, we make gingerbread men, too.
ReplyDeleteArgh! I'm still having trouble with Open ID. I may not be able to leave comments with it again this week but I'll keep trying. I don't have any trouble with the Name/Url option so if you have that enabled I can comment. I think I need to find a new provider for Open ID because I'm having way too much trouble with myOpenID lately.
ReplyDeleteOooo, so many good cookie selections. I was tempted to say all of them, but this year I'm partial to Rugelach. I'm going to bake some this morning. What's not to love about 2 sticks of butter and a block of cream cheese in the dough? Of course my arteries don't love it...
ReplyDeleteI love gingerbread - especially when they are soft!
ReplyDelete@Rosie - that recipe sounds delicious!! Thanks!
Happy Holidays!
Happy Happy Holidays ALL!!!
ReplyDeleteWell I am a die-hard cookie lover! But lately I have noticed that I like a more subtle sweetness, so my current favorites are old-fashioned sugar cookies. They are about 3" in diameter and 1/4" thick and made with sour milk. You make sour milk by adding 1Tablespoon cider vinegar to a cup of milk and let it stand until it gets thick. Recipe from my Mother who is 90years young.
ReplyDelete2C sugar, 1 generous Cup butter, 2 eggs, 1C sour milk, 4C flour, 1t. vanilla,3/4t. baking soda,2t. baking powder. Sift dry ingredients. Cream sugar and butter until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour milk. You may have to add up to 1 1/2 cups more flour - keep dough as soft as possible to be able to roll out. May refrigerate overnight. Roll to 1/4", cut in desired shapes with large cookie cutter. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 450 degrees until just beginning to brown. You may add some nutmeg while mixing if you like.
Those cookies look awesome. I think I've had too many already. Thank you very much.:) Happy Holidays to every one! Enjoy and take care. Thanks Eva and Kristin for your hospitality as always.
