Welcome everyone to Week 38 of Paint Party Friday! We hope those of you who celebrated American Thanksgiving last week had a wonderful long weekend, that your clothes do up (again) and that you found some time to paint!
We have been seeing a trend lately.... a lot of your paintings are starting to look a lot like Christmas! So we thought we'd ask about the impact of seasonal celebrations on your art. We hope you'll also tell us your favourite seasonal creation in the comments!

Please make sure to use your post URL address NOT your blog home page URL address as there are many late visitors who get confused as to which post is for PPF when they arrive (after Friday) at your website. If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Linky, an explanation of how this tool works can be found on Week 1 and Week 2 Check-ins.
Hope you have a fabulous time at the party and that you still have time to paint at this crazy time of year!
P.S. BTW - the charming and wonderful nutcracker above was created by Kristin during her 30-30-30 project last year and was excitedly bought by EVA to join her extensive nutcracker collection. We both love him and thought he would be fun to share with you!
Thank you Kristin & Eva!

wow, like, I'm first?!?!?
ReplyDeleteI like to paint a Christmas card. But that's the only seasonal painting I do, if you are referring to Holidays. One year I hand painted about a dozen winter Christmas cards, other years I just do one and make copies of it.
Happy Paint Friday to all. I honestly don't paint Christmas. I've never really tried. I think I did one santa claus. Hope to try this year though. Nice santa up there.
ReplyDeletewell, not QUITE first.
ReplyDeleteLove your nutcracker painting! It's absolutely wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting Paint Party Friday!
Happy PPF!!

That nutcracker is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteBy the time I get inspired enough by a holiday to think about creating something, it's usually over.
I am hopeless at getting to seasonal paintings and cards and things... sometimes I make a bit of an attempt but have pretty much given up... how sad does that sound... mind you I have no trouble finding time to do other work...always really impressed when other people do though... they must be a lot more organised than I am...xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous nutcracker painting! Glad to be back at PPF this week. I don't usually paint seasonal paintings. I'm too slow! ;)
ReplyDeleteHey you all. I'm sorry I forgot to paste the current week in the link. Yikes! The corrected one is in now. I wish I could delete #12. :(
ReplyDeleteCrazy, crazy time of year, indeed. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteahhh...christmas is the best time of the year i think....i create all the time, tho at times it does get a bit hectic and creating gets pushed aside a bit....thanks again for ppf...its wonderfully encouraging...xxx
ReplyDeleteI do not paint according to season but it may be an idea!
ReplyDeleteI make some Xmas cards and tagsfor friends, but prefer doing my everyday things! Happy PPF you all! Valerie
ReplyDeleteAs you'll see from my post today, funny enough, I do create Christmas pieces - inspired as always by either my dogs or my twisty towns! As my pointy portraits are so time consuming and intense I like to do whimsical illustrations that I turn into greetings cards for all occasions. I'm not very organised though and should probably have stocked them in my online shops way before now!
ReplyDeleteThis nutcracker is wonderful! This year I'm so busy painting I hardly have time to decorate for Christmas, but you can see what I've been up to if you visit my blog. Although it's not strictly related to a Christmas theme, I did manage to stick with red and green with this week's painting.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great painting of the nutcracker. So glad to be with you guys this week. I have missed your inspiration the last few months. Love to all!
ReplyDeletethankyou so much for hosting again this week.
ReplyDeleteI have painted our christmas cards every year for a very long time, I usually hand paint each one but a few years I painted one then printed the rest from it.
Nice nutcracker, I`m happy to be again in this art`space. Hugs
ReplyDeleteLove your nutcracker, you're so talented. I've been thinking of printing up my own Xmas art cards next year, will have to figure out how, but google knows everything!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE to paint Santa(on anything)and Christmas is the BEST! I need a time management lesson, I too wait too long to begin my holiday creations and end up rushing to finish them up in time ... never painted my Christmas cards though ... LOVE Pointypix's Christmas Cards! Thx Eva and Kristin for this place to BE! Happy Holiday prep to all!
ReplyDeleteYou are both lucky ~ Creator and the Owner of such a wonderful creation ~ thanks, namaste, Carol (Share the Creative Journey) Happy PPF !

ReplyDeleteLove your nutcracker! So cute. This is my first Christmas since I began painting, so I've never painted Xmas art before. I just finished an abstract Xmas tree that I absolutely love! It will be my link for next week.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful and vibrant Nutcracker! Very nice!!
ReplyDeleteI want to make doorhangers and pet stockings for the pups...but we'll see! I'm getting more inspired just visiting here.
Happy PPF!!
Love the nutcracker! I think my painting changes with the flow of the seasons. But I guess it also depends on my mood. I haven't been in a Christmasy mood yet, so I guess I'll have to wait and see if the mood strikes me.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually paint for holidays. I prefer timeless work, however, not always. I just go with whatever comes my way! ...I really like this nutcracker though!!!
ReplyDeletei am very late in joining but i thought i'd invite everyone to join my giveaway. yes, i have done seasonal art. last year i did a 25 piece ATC advent calendar.
ReplyDeleteCharming nutcracker!! I usually try to create items or art for some holidays. But I don't really like fixed themes. I draw what I like at the moment. :))
ReplyDeleteLoving your Nutcracker. Sorry cannot join in this week, things are totally mad here at home....x
