Welcome to Paint Party Friday where we love to paint, to party and to join our friends (all painters are welcome) to show off our efforts! We're happy to have you join us!
Last week our poll talked about distractions. That topic was partially chosen due to Blogger's problems the week before and this week there are more! Sometimes one can't log-in and other times one can't comment. Yikes!! That will sure put a damper on the party if it is not resolved! Some people have been commenting as "Anonymous" this week (on our personal blogs) and signing their names to the comment to work around this issue, so make sure your settings allow anonymous comments just in case. We switched from Internet Explorer (IE) to Google Chrome to be able to log in and comment. This works and seems to be the best solution as the problems are IE-associated. Hopefully none of you will have any issues and all will be working perfectly but until then let's use as many creative workarounds as we can think of! (We have a back-up plan we hope never to use.)
Which brings us to this week's poll inspired by some of your comments about distractions. (There are always such awesome comments!) And according to last week's poll, most of us are easily distracted. "All of the above" was the winning answer by a long shot! This week we want to know more about how you deal with distractions and creative blocks...

If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Linky, an explanation of how this tool works can be found on Week 1 and Week 2 check-ins. Please make sure to use your post URL address versus your blog URL address as there are many late visitors who get confused as to which post is for PPF when they arrive (after Friday) at your website.
Have a fun time at the party!!
Seems as though the internet is just generally acting up. I too had problems logging in and out and leaving comments. Weirdness is everywhere! Happy PPF everyone. :-)
ReplyDeletenot fair putting creative blocks and distractions together in one poll! I'm easily sidetracked so go with the flow and eventually get back to what I'm doing. Don't usually have creative blocks. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that you're talking about creative blocks as I just finished my post where I'm experiencing one myself at the moment :0( makes me feel very down......glad I'm not alone though and I'll just try to push through it :0)
ReplyDeleteOkay I will try to leave a comment. I switched to Firefox to see if it works. I will be commenting on blogs tomorrow as it's late and I'm tending to a couple of sore wrists. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteYay, it took it. Buenas noches.
ReplyDeleteHappy to be here for my 2nd time! Yay!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting such a fun way to look forward to Fridays (or in this case, for me, late Thursdays :D) heehee!
Funny its about distractions this week as I've been particularly distracted and also, now that I've finished my most recent portrait, am also feeling a little blocked as to what to try next - it's almost as though since I made it official with the tax man that I'm a part time artist I haven't been able to think of anything arty to do!! Yikes. Here's to a bank holiday weekend of no distractions and plenty of art.
ReplyDeleteHmm...I wonder what people would say if there was an 'other' option for this poll...I clicked all of the above. I would have added 'take an ecourse of some creative kind' - since that always gives me new inspiration. I had a creative block/distraction this week called sunshine! We don't get much of it here, so we were all distracted. It took me out of that daydreamy place I visit on rainy, gloomy days that inspires me to create. Thankfully, I can always count on the rain to return, and my block to vanish. Happy PFF and I hope everyone has a SAFE holiday weekend.
ReplyDeletePromise I won't stuff up this week, I think 3rd time, and I finally got it?? Sorry I'm a slow learner! OK, I think maybe just have a pen/pencil & paper near by & I love then browsing through art books, masters, modern, high brow, low brow, mono brow, all good, just a little spark, idea, colour, texture can inspire and if you don't have paper handy sometimes you can forget by the time you get back to your desk!
ReplyDeleteHi, actually the inspiration is a mystery, anything you return it ... As for the comments, yes it`s a problem .. but the technology has these things right? Kisses and Happy weekend to all
ReplyDeleteExcellent poster with dice, I love the colors and reflections.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to be back at the party, nice to see you all again! I don't often get distracted from painting or crafting, mostly the painting distracts me from H*******k, and that can only be good! Valerie
ReplyDeleteGreat to be taking part at the party again. Am going to be out for most of the day but will catch up with all tonight and over the weekend. Have a great day........Annette x
ReplyDeleteI just entered my breakfast "model" into the Paint Party this week..........the best part is you don´t have to pay models like this to pose and afterwards you get to eat the evidence.
ReplyDeletejust wanted to say the comment problems were in Firefox as well, but seem to be ok now. Love this week's PPF sketch...reflections and all!
ReplyDeleteHello my Paint Party Friday Friends. I hope you have a wonderful PPF and make lovely art today.
ReplyDeleteNelly
Another week of technology related "distractions" for me! boo hoo! Hopefully all will work this week and I'll be able to participate. :) As for the other kind of distractions, I find if I take a brush to the canvas, things tend to work themselves out! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF and almost Memorial Day weekend! I always have a huge to-do list and painting/creating/me-time is always on the bottom of the list, so distractions have usually won out in the past. Trying to change that around and PPF helps. Thank you! Can't believe we've been togther for 11 weeks already!

those are really unique blocks,, I hope this goes through,, Happy PPF and thankyou Eva and Kristin,,its not posting correctly so ,, this is from Laurie,
ReplyDeleteI voted all the above. I'm good at creating distractions and reacting to those distractions in all sorts of creative ways. So I guess you could say I'm always creating. Eventually I just get sick of taking myself so seriously and just play with stuff. :o)

I'll try to comment again. Thanks Sunshine Shelle for letting me know that my link wasn't working. This may not post as well. Have a great day everyone.
ReplyDeleteWow! I just did my post and talked about therapy and having obstacles along the way, I wasn't aware of Kristin and Eva's poll for this week until now. Unfortunately this past week has been one of those major obstacles preventing me to do what I love but we all have to deal with unwanted issues to resolve them the best we can....therapy , whatever kind, helps me cope.My therapy is spending time with my family, both human and furry , time out in nature and going to church and yard sales .Long drives in the country and upon returning home, quietly relaxing in the living room watching a spooky movie with my daughter while painting or reading or whatever captures me in the moment . ...can't just watch tv, need something in my hands, even if it's just doodling...haha! So I voted all.
ReplyDeleteWill come by this evening for visits....still working on that obstacle of this past week, wouldn't be leaving any time soon I'm afraid!

I'm admitting to I cave into the distraction. I know there are a lot of us, because it was like 23%. The internet is a major distraction for me. I get so caught up in looking at what other artists are up to that I spend too much time getting inspired and before I know it, it's 2 in the morning! Of course all the mommy distractions. When I have a block, I've got a list of things to paint just for that reason. Of course I usually forget where my list is!
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF! ~Jaime
Is there a problem with comments, in some sites I can not comment ... I know if Guatari happens to more people or just to me this morning did not happen. A hug
ReplyDeletei had problems logging into Blogger from my original email address.....
ReplyDeleteanyway, PPF is a blast!! i am so glad i joined this party!!
I chose all of the above. It just depends on the day whether I'm able to create or not. This week, although it was FULL of other stuff (I hate to call them distractions), I was able to slip in a little bit of painting. I also have many other creative outlets and it's good to be able to fall back on one of them, too. As long as I'm doing SOMETHING creative, I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend! Happy painting!
My computer is often a distraction, but I love seeing all the beautiful paintings on my blogger friends blogs. I know I grow as an artist by learning from others, so I'm not sure you can call it a distraction. Love this blog-just found it. :)
ReplyDeleteI had the distraction of a migraine last night and today! I am late, but glad to be here. It may take me a bit to visit everyone but I will!
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone enjoys a long and happy weekend!
Theresa
Major distractions in my life! Painting helps me to cope with the stresses!
ReplyDeleteI posted my painting project on Wednesday, but it still up today... so I'm counting it :). I hope you don't mind my cheating a little! Happy Painting Friday.
ReplyDeleteJoining the party finally. Many distractions today:)
ReplyDeleteSo far this week I have been okay with Blogger, keeping fingers crossed! It's the end of the school year that distracts me currently, but thank heaven that's over soon. Happy long weekend to everyone.
ReplyDeletethis has become one of my favorite places. I try to get to all blogs or at least respond to those who comment. I was away for a few days and am catching up!
ReplyDeleteHave a great creative weekend!
Just added mine. I can't wait until I can look at everyone's entries. It may take all weekend since I'm 59!
ReplyDeleteOh dear..Is blogger on the fritz? My comment is gone... I'm here, I'm here :)
ReplyDeleteI honestly thought I signed mr.linky earlier, but I wasn't using google chrome...
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should turn off the computer and just paint...or read ☺
@Julie - your other comment today was on week 9. So that's why it's not showing here.
ReplyDeleteI was alerted by stephanie that i had the wrong link(thank you), so I reposted the right one!

I am really enjoying may visits here and learning to get the paint out and starting again. And PPF for getting this together it's so successful (in my eyes) as it gets me to work. I am also very grateful for all those who take time to comment as I am such a beginner and so many here are so VERY talented have their own shows (very cool) I am glad to be among such lovely people
